Call of Duty 4 Modern Warfare

My buddy got this game for the Xbox 360. AWESOME game!! You get to go through so many different types of combat and the realism is well....real. This is coming from a guy whose been to Iraq twice, Kosovo, and a few others. (My buddy not me). When you hit a guy in the leg, he doesn't die he falls down in pain and starts to shoot back while crawling for cover. Things blow up right and fall apart right. A tank can be taken out like a real tank, not some semi-indestructible thing. There's a sniper mission where you have to sneak past enemies undetected, and a mission where you're on a mark19 in a chopper, and an air strike mission that is just plain SWEET. Oh, did I mention I just started playing.

A friend of mine who is also on my bowling team has this game. He has about all the war games I think. He loves it too. He said he couldnt stop playing for hours when he first got it.

Im not good at all with any of these type of games. To me, its too hard to remember all the button/knob functions to be able to do stuff in the game. Too confusing.

I'll stick with my racing games.

Alot of these games can be VERY hard to remember. It's even worse when you play alot of Halo and then go to play a game where the buttons are different. Many have started to use the same layouts for most things though. I still tend to throw a damn grenade when I meant to reload.

That's what I always do. Even for racing games...I had to remap the Moto GP controls to match those of Forza/TOCA.

Anyway, I have the original CoD, the one that was released for PC only, and loved it. I've had CoD 3 for XBOX since May but haven't played it, because all summer I played CoD 3 on XBOX 360. My Dad has 360 and tried to by CoD 3 for it online and accidentally bought the original XBOX version so he had to buy it again.

Any way games like CoD and Medal of Honor I much preferred to play on the PC, racing games as well. For FPS games I find mouse/keyboard much better than a game controller. Conversely sports games are almost unplayable on the PC unless you have a console style controller.

I guess when you're used to it (the PC) you can get very good but I tried to play some of the battlefield series games and I sucked at it. I can play so much better with the controller. Of course 98% of my gaming has been on a console so I suppose that has alot to do with it.

I've tried it on the PC for an hour or two. It's a great game, a big leap forward in every aspect. You really feel like you are in a battlefield. The chaos comes across really well

Would like to try the Deathmatch multiplayer, which I have yet to find

A friend of mine has this on his computer and I have been playing it off and on for the last few weeks.

It is easily the best FPS out there. It's nothing radical or revolutionary, but it has essentially perfected all the important elements of an FPS.

I'm not in the military, at the moment, but I have played many FPS's games, including every game in the COD series, and I can say that it seems very realistic. The way people move looks right, especially when they have been shot, and the guns feel very real with a seemingly appropriate recoil and power.

The storyline in the single player was very good, much better than any in the previous COD's, although it was a bit short. The sniper level was one of the most fun/intense levels I've played in any FPS.

I was a bit unsure about moving away from WW2, which was what all the other COD's were but it was great to be able to use all the modern technologies, such as calling in airstrikes.

    I give it a 9/10.
