Training by Racing in Video Games

The games today are so sophisticated. In fact, NASCAR drivers openly admit to using games as training tools. Not only that, some of the younger drivers have purposely used games to better their driving, especially at games related to specific tracks. Does this amaze you as much as it does me? The idea of learning happening from a video game versus actual experience on the track is mind boggling to me in so many ways.

This is just but normal. Did you know that pilots learn from simulated flights that could be compared to flight simulation games. So it could expected that race car drivers enhance their skills in playing games.

I knew pilots learned in flight simulators, but I always thought they were set up like actual cockpits in planes. When I hear that drivers are practicing using video games I think of someone sitting on their couch with a bag of chips and a soda.

I believe that playing racing games improve your driving skill to some extent. The games are designed to resemble the real situations you may face in the real life, hence make you more alert of what may happen to you on the road.

You can definitely learn things like how to manuever to the inside of turns and in some games, you can even learn how to use drafting to your advantage!

I've been hearing positive things lately about playing video games. I think even those that aren't simulations can improve some areas of brain function.

I'm not sure if that applies to those of us old enough to remember Space Invaders...
