    Bamber to race Asian series?

Ok this has got my hopes up a lot that a young kiwi maybe driving in GP2 even if it is only the Asian series. At the end of this article http://www.3news.co.nz/A1GP-rookie-s...5/Default.aspx the reporter, who is one of the few reporters in NZ that actually knows about motorsport, states that Earl Bamber will be driving in the Asian GP2 series. Unfortunitly i wouldn't believe it until an official announcement is made. Kiwi media in my experience gets a lot wrong about motorsport.

If he does have a drive i wouldn't be surprised if it was with Meritus. They have stated that they want to develop their own drivers and Bamber has already won Pacific Formula BMW with the team in his rookie year in cars in 2006 and this year is back with the team leading the Formula V6 Asia Series only missing out on the podium in 1 race in which he got taking out in. This year he has competed in 2 international Formula Master races. Claiming victory in race 2 at Imola and scored 2 podiums in his A1GP at the recent round at Zandvoort.

Yeah it is certainly great news that he could match it with those main series regulars. With Earl only being 18yrs 3months does this make him the youngest person to score a GP2 podium? it must be close
