Thread: Danica Signs - twice

Well it looks Danica has re-upped with Andretti for a few years and she's also signed with JR Motorsports in NASCAR. She's gonna be a busy gal.

Sorry this might seem like a dumb question, but how can she sign with both? Is it because they're not the same league? I'm still learning all of these differences.

She had to get permission from her team owners at IndyCar and from her sponsor. In fact, her Indy sponsor has come with her to NASCAR. There are some contractual things built into the agreement about how much and when she can race.

She is taking the smartest route to get into NASCAR, rather than jumping into it all at once.

It'll be interesting to see how see does. The good thing about this plan is that if she bombs out, there's no foul. She just stays in IndyCar.

Personally, I don't think she has to worry about bombing out. Danica is a very talented driver. I just hope she doesn't leave Indycar all together.
