Excitement has been lacking in both of these series for quite some time, but in watching the races this year, I think IndyCar has more 'racing' going for it and thus more excitement.
What are your thoughts?

There is generally more passing and position changes due to the several pit stops allowing for a variety of strategies in IRL, however up in our area only a few races are carried by TV channels accessible on the cable network, having said that, I usually find oval racing on the dull side, even the Indy 500, which is just about the only oval race I watch and some of the street circuit are of dubious quality (the worst one was San Jose), but like I said, I haven't seen any IRL races since the Toronto race last year, so I can't really comment on the current season so far.
F1 had a snoozer for a first race this season, but both Australian and Malaysian GP were exiting races, I can't wait for the circuit to reach Europe were I expect thing to really heat up.
I am loving the Nascar season so far this year, the rivalry between Carl Edwards and Brad Keselowski have really made things exciting. I don't want to see anyone hurt but I have to admit it's been very interesting to say the least.
F1 is getting better but there just isn't any passing in that; not enough to excite me. Oval racing has a ton of passing. That's where the fun comes, in my opinion anyway.
I think I tend to watch more just to get an idea of everything that goes on (the cars, the drivers, the tech behind the cars, etc), not just the race all together. As canuck noted, it can sometimes get boring. Maybe that's why most fans end up having a get together at hte same time as a big race day.![]()
i personal think its race to race have never seen a whole Indy racebut hopley see one soon but have seen alot of youtube.. its good racing in both series but Chinas GP was awsome fun !
I think people tend to remain loyal to whatever it is that grabbed their attention in auto racing in the first place. That's a part of what is or isn't exciting.
I have to admit I love IndyCar much more than F1. It just seems more exciting and enjoyable to watch all the way around. Although, if I had the chance to go see a race in person, I would be just as happy with either.
I follow mostly Nascar races and only watch another kind of race if we have tickets to it or if it's on TV and we happen to flip by it. IndyCar is not too exciting for me. I usually don't watch it.
Part of the problem for me is knowing when IndyCar is on. It's split between a couple of networks and it doesn't feel like there's any real consistency.
