    Whats the requirement?

Hello everyone I am new to this forum but I love to drive go karts. I have a few question about how to become a sprint kart racer.
Is there a restriction on ages?
Is there a license I can get before I attend any kart racing school?
Does the school give out kart license?
Should I attend any races first or attend school first?
Where can I get info about racing events? Please and thanks!
I'm from California and I am 24 years old.
I want to do karting for my career. Is join a club a way to go?

I probably don't have any answers to your questions, but stating where in the world you are from would probably help those who might be able to answer.

Start by going to local tracks. Search online for karting organization.

Florida has some good championships if you live there.

Where do you live? and what is your age?

Get a kart, go to your local track, and join.

Most karting organizations in North America are in the form of Clubs. You pay a membership, and race day fees, and they run the championships provide you with you license, etc.

If all you want to do is race than there's no need for any schools. They're really expensive. You're best to just go to your track on test days and drive and drive and drive.

At the start of each season most clubs have a rookie training day as well, check that out.

All I did when I started karting for training was drive through a slalom course a couple of times and a few slow laps of my home track on rookie training day. I was 10 years old when I did this so I can almost guarantee that you're old enough to race.

Well put. I would recommend attending all of your local tracks and clubs to see which one is the most appealing. Make sure you know what you are getting into before you jump in. Ask questions, this will give you a little insight into the sport and the type of people you will be racing with. Karting is a wonderful sport and has aided the development of many of today's top stars. As for schools...start out with seat time. Drive as much as you possibly can. If you feel that you need more assistance.....a school might be the way to go. Alan Rudolph has an excellent school in Arizona. Welcome and best of luck.
