I have been thinking about taking my wife on vacation and I want to take her somewhere different (we always go to racetracks/racetrack cities). Any ideas of where I could go with her?

Personally I like either a quiet beach (not a resort town) or a nice trip to the mountains. What does she like to do when you go on vacation?
I think it's totally personal preference but my family has started enjoying cruises. It's nice because someone is always taking care of you and you don't have to worry about anything. If you live near a port it's a convenient way to vacation.
What does she like and what does she not like? For me, I would love a trip to Germany but I have always wanted to go there really. More info. would help for better suggestions.![]()
She loves to be in places where there aren't tons of people around. I think it would be nice for us to go somewhere without our kids, also. This year is our 10th anniversary, so it'd be a good time for something big. She likes being outside and she likes different countries, as well.
I really want to go to Germany too. My husband has been twice with his company and I'm extremely jealous.
I think doing something special for your 10th anniversary is a great idea. What month are you thinking about?
Congratulations on your 10 years! A cruise might not be the answer then if she doesn't like being around a lot of people. How about a secluded island vacation at a couples resort?
Just thought about a good site to pass on to you... Bookit.com runs specials every single day. I booked a hotel room in Myrtle Beach, SC over the summer using this site. They have some super package deals!
We love going to Barbados, its a relatively small island, not very crowded, lots of beaches, resorts, shopping downtown Bridgetown (if you like jewelry, particularly emeralds) the island is very safe, you can rent a "moke" (sort of a mini jeep) and tour the island, they drive on the left side of the road, which took me 5 minutes to get used to. Let me add that every time we've been there was off season, so I can't vouch for the crowd during high season (winter time)
If your thinking Europe, you really need to go for several weeks and see more than just one country, there is so much to see there, but its also tends to be fairly crowded, best way to travel once there, Eurorail pass.
Our anniversary is in April, and I thought since it was a big one it would be a good idea to plan ahead a bit.
Barbados sound nice, I like the idea of something that's only for about a week. We will have to leave our kids here, so I don't want to go away for more than one week.
Thanks for the site suggestion, growup.
I like the idea of a couples retreat place. I'll have to look into it some more.
