I bet some people here have driven in another country where you're on the opposite side of the road from home. I haven't done that yet.
Did you find it tough to get comfortable driving that way?

I never had a hard time adjusting between driving in the states and in the Caribbean. I think it's just a presence of mind issue - if I were someone who got distracted easily, I'm sure I'd have a harder time remembering what side to be on.
Nothing to it, before I was going to drive in Barbados for the first time, I was kind of anxious, as I had never driven on the "other" side of the road, but within a few minutes I was comfortable with the concept.![]()
Come to think of it, I was driving with a friend in the Puerto Vallarta area, and I was surprised that the left turns were made from the far right lane of multiple lane roads.
I can see that causing trouble with a mixture of local and tourist drivers.
I have never tried it but I think I would probably be one of the ones who had problems with it. I see it in movies and think"why are they driving on the wrong side"?
I have tried driving on the other side of the road. I was a bit nervous on my first time because I always look at the wrong side-view mirror. But it will be easy after you get the hang of it.
My husband says I should be a natural for it since I tend to do things a little different we shall say.
I had a chance to do this on a closed course about ten years ago with a racing buddy of mine and it was a test car that he was building and I think I did okay considering I lived through it.![]()
I know someone who was working in Canada as a film extra, driving a car. The scene was supposed to be set where the wheel was on the other side of the car.
So he ended up going very slowly past the camera, steering with a screwdriver held low as his passenger held the disconnected steering wheel in the passenger's seat.![]()
I've tried driving on the other side of the road and I got no problem with it. I guess if you are driving all your life then you will get adjusted easily to certain changes on the road.
