    Best Camera View

When you are watching races on TV, which camera view do you like best: follow-through, fixed-angles, or front-car view?

I love the front-car view because its like I'm inside the race car. But the problem with that is that I can't watch the overall race. So the follow-through view is my next best camera view. I don't like fixed-angles because the camera will be switched often after the cars have passed.

I like the follow-through. The front-car view is fun, but I'm more interested in seeing the race overall, and the front-car view just doesn't help with that.

I believe in variety. I like all of them, but not exclusively. Like you two have said, you miss so much of the race if you stay with the front.

I guess I like follow-through best if I had to choose one. I think ultimately a good producer will use the combination of shots available to make the best viewing experience.

Wouldn't it be great to watch on an interactive system where you could choose the view you wanted in real time?

That would be really awesome Krumar and with the advances in technology it's probably coming too! I guess I like the follow through best over all but I like the front car view as well.

Why is it that nobody likes the fixed view?

I like the fixed view when two or three cars are almost at the finish line. But I have to agree with everyone that the follow through is the best view.
