    Distractions

Watch this video and tell me what you think. I hope you enjoy it!

What are the common things that distract you from concentrating on the road while you are driving?

I can honestly say that the incident in the video has never occurred to distract me personally. Actually, my biggest distraction is my allergies and sneezing. I keep tissue in my car at all times and there have been a couple times where I've had to pull over.

I can't imagine driving on a race track with other people. I guess that is why I'm just a fan!
My distractions are from cell phones, animals crossing the road, or my daughter chatting a lot!

Mine would be a kid in the back seat instead of just talking and trying to be a 2nd driver, she is yammering about anything else. And out of no where I am like "Where did that come from, what are you talking about"?

But yes that video is priceless.

I have to admit that I am easily distracted. Besides people calling or sending messages to my cell phone, the biggest distraction is... well, an attractive woman.

The video never fails to make me laugh. I have seen it a dozen times since I post it here but I'm always laughing whenever I see the last part.

Did you see how the jaw of the car dropped? Did it drop because of the girl or because of how stupid the driver was?

By the way, my distractions on the road are the new cars that pass me by. I always look twice on those shiny new cars.

Back in the days when I was racing, on occasions I missed the pit signals (the straight was were I usually took a peek at my instruments and tried to gauge the distance from the ones behind me, in the mirrors), maybe if a lady holding the pit board, wearing the same attire, or lack thereof, I might have paid more attention to the signals (but then again, I might have missed them by being distracted by something else)
That was in the dark ages, before radio communication

While it is funny to think about and I have had my share of crazy things in life), I am sure the driver is quite thankful that no one was hurt during this. I wonder what the lady thought of when she saw that though.

I knew someone who had a fender bender because he was paying more attention to a lady on the street than to his driving.

I don't think she was trying to be noticed in the same way the lady in the video was, though.

Yes, you are right. It's not fair to blame the lady for the accident. I am curious what happened to the driver and his career. Any news about him? Does he still drive in races now?
