Sponsors are very important in any racing team. They support the team in their finances and upgrades of the race car.
So how exactly do the sponsors gain something from supporting the race teams? Is it only the advertisement on the car or do they get their money back from something else?
Mostly the advertisement - especially in races where the whole car is sponsored by one company. It makes not just spectators, but the racers and track workers themselves more likely to promote the brand.
It spreads the word and gets their name out. However, there is a negative impact too if the sponsor is aligned with the wrong driver.
By the way, Scott's has made Roush Fenway Racing know that while they love Carl Edwards, there had better not be a repeat performance of what happened last week between Carl and Keselowski.
What about the prize money? Do the sponsors have some share from the prize that team will win? And the how about the tickets and the fees from TV networks?
