    AMA Superbike from Virginia

Matt Mladin takes pole and just plain dominated the double header. He's closing fast on Spies lead sitting just 6 back. Looks like Spies stayed close by finishing 2nd at both races with Yates in 3rd at race 2. The Suzuki's (my favs.) seem to totaly dominate in AMA.

It sure looks that way. Even the Jordan guys are improving. It'd be nice to see a little more variety in AMA (plus the announcers put me to sleep). Like you mentioned a while back, it's always the same guys on the same bikes. Namely Mladin and Spies. I can't remember which of the two has their sights set on MotoGP next year.

Probably Speis given Mladin is your age.

Quite right. But so is Loris Capirossi and KR Jr. is pretty close too.

Capirossi and KRJR have been in Moto GP/500cc for well over 10 years now though.

Yeah, I know, I know. Sheesh! What, is this the Spanish Inquisition.

I'm certainly not trying to say Mladin has the skills for MotoGP. I'm not sure Spies does either. I just didn't remember which one was the one. I usually tune out the announcers and really don't follow it as much as I should.

I think Spies would be the one going there at some point. He's still coming up in his career and the way I see it, Mladin looks to be looking towards retirement. I'm not saying within the next year or two but sometime soon.
