Race 1

With the factory Suzuki's of Spies and Mladin starting from the front, most of us can see where this was going. Mladin made a great start off into P1 with Spies right behind. 2 turns in and you can already see the gap opening up. A little bit in and Spies lays the bike down trying to hang in with Mladin. He was able to get the bike going again but was at least a lap down. Mladin, in the meantime, managed to get NOOOOO tv time due to the enormous lead over the field. The only action was back from p2 down. Needless to say, Mladin took this race in dominant fashion.

Spies also hadn't gotten to test the new suspension and that didn't help. His bike was VERY unstable up until then and so far in race 2 they have ironed out some of that. No problems so far besides Mladin stomping him again. Spies is in P2 for now and the Suzuki teammates are well clear of the field. I really want to see these 2 try MotoGP and see how they do.

Well Mladin dominates the 3rd race in a row. It started out well with Spies able to get the bike back together and compete with Matt. They pulled away early but Mladin was able to pull out over Spies by some distance. Tommy Hayden made it an all Yoshi Suzuki podium. 3 teammates on the podium ought to scare the rest of the field but then again they've been getting killed for 8 years now. Hehehehe. Nothing too spectacular in this one but so far 100% for Mladin on his way to try for championship #7

Looks like I missed something in quali. Roger Hayden went down hard in a quali session and was hospitalized. It looks like he broke several bones and lost part of his pinky or the whole thing. The info I'm getting is sketchy. I was watching the latest AMA race and they mentioned it.

"I'm jacked up real bad," Hayden said this afternoon via cell phone. "I broke my pelvis in three spots, one near my tail bone. I also broke my lower left lumbar in three spots. My pinkie is ground down and dislocated so bad they can't pin it; they might have to do a bone graft.
"I guess the place that I'm going to, they have about five specialists in every area of the body and they've done some real amazing work," Hayden said.
"It's a bad deal. It wasn't my fault. I have no idea what he was thinking," Hayden said of the other rider involved.
