    Internet Radio Stations

Place to discuss about radiostations you can find on web.

Winamp's Shoutcast Radio is really an excellent place. Try to search for nice lounge music at these:

    Soma Fm beat blender

    Spy

    FG DJ RADIO

    Pulsradio

Hmm.. well it's not really an interweb type radio station, but you can listen to it online. I told the cubicle crashing Texan about it, but I don't know if he's had a chance to listen to it.

3dub dot kisw.com It's THE rock station in Seattle (one of the best in the US actually) and it's been around for years. BUT! It's the morning show that I love. I used to listen to them on another station that is no longer. The BJ Shea Morning Experience. 6-10am my time (Pacific). All talk, but controversial, smart, and damn hilarious. After them it's nothing but rock, rock and more rock.

I watched the vid. I've been unsing iTunes for alot of radio at work. Nothing real specific. Also alot of podcasts. I check out the Frontwing podcast (from frontwing.net who just so happens to have a fantasy league. Speaking of which....I asked Kareem to add a forum last season and bam...here I am) Also checking out Bill Maher's show alot this week. That show may not interest anyone outside the US due to it being mostly political.

I found AOL Radio a few weeks back. It's very nice because there are a lot of different channels with different themes and I think you can also make your own playlists

Something I found when I got the iPhone is Pandora. It's basically streaming internet radio BUT it's customized. Kinda hard to explain unless you use it (VERY simple to use though) but I'll try. Basically you sign up (free) and you are asked to name an artist. (TOOL for example) so it finds that artist for you and creates a channel. Then it finds music with similar qualities and plays a song. You give it a thumbs up/down vote and it starts finding you music that fits your style. It also allows you to tailor your station by "seeding" artists or specific songs. (Seeding = adding them to a list that Pandora uses to tune your style). Sounds complicated BUT it's not. It's sooooo easy to use. There's also an iPhone app so that you can then listen to your station(s) on the iPhone.

Here's an example: I like heavy stuff BUT I don't like the high pitched screamy crap. So I put in Hatebreed to make my Channel. So it finds that. I then seeded with Bury Your Dead, Throwdown, Full Blown Chaos and others that I like AND I seeded songs that were specifically the style I like. So far I get alot that sounds like I like and no high pitched screamy crap. Also none of that Bullet for my Valentine style that's heavy/pop in one song. Took 5 min to get my station ready and that was while music was playing.
