    Music While Driving

Many of us listen to music (or news) while we are driving. What type of music do you listen to?

I listen only to instrumental music when I'm driving because I tend to get carried with the music with lyrics. With instrumental, specifically classical, I would be calm while driving.

I also specifically listen to classical when I'm driving in rush hour, and I find it helps relax me.

Now when I was in high school and driving with my buddies, it was a different story. Back then it was Deep Purple, Queen and Alice Cooper. These days I save that for the home stereo.

I'm not a huge fan of classical, but I do usually enjoy listening to zouk, which is very relaxing French Caribbean music. If it's nighttime and there's no traffic, though, I might feel adventurous and put on some rock.

I forgot to mention about driving at night. I don't play classical music at night for I might just fall asleep. Linkin Park is what I listen to when I'm driving at night.

There has to be music on when I am in any car, otherwise its too dull. I have a habit of getting into another persons car and touching the radio (as if I have control over what they listen to?). For the most part, I do not channel flip unless something hideous comes on. Now road trips, that is pure CD playing the entire trip.

I listen to whatever I'm in the mood for. If its snowy like today, I listen to country music. It tends to sooth my tension. If my daughter is in the car we listen to pop music. If I'm tired I listen to the music I listened to when I was growing up.

I listen to a lot of different stuff while I am driving if I am angry or in a bad mood it's probably going to be metallica or pantera, and if I am in a good mood it's usually something like Nickelback.

I like sometimes when you pull up to a light and you can almost hear what the person over next to you is listening to and vs. versa - it is only better when you are listening to the same station and its a rocking song on.
