    Juan Pablo Montoya - Rookie of the Year 2007

    After tonight's race, Juan Pablo Montoya received the Raybestos Rookie of the Year award in NASCAR. Juan did win a race this year at Infineon Raceway in Sonoma.

    After checking some clips from the tube, it seems that Juan Pablo isn't the most liked driver there.

    No, he isnt. I think some of it is the fact of the "foreigners", (as NASCAR fans call them) of open wheelers coming into the series.

    Wait till next year when Dario Franchitti runs a full circuit and does real well. Im sure it will quiet some of those anti- open wheelers..

    There were a few controversial incidents, but to be fair they weren't always his fault. JP has done a very good job this year, and I think he deserves the award. Hope JV follows in his footsteps

    haha, I was about to say wait until JV has a full time Cup ride.

    Then you'll know what controversy is. He has an opinion on everything, and isn't afraid to say it. And it's usually the exact opposite of what everyone else thinks.

    But unlike in F1, that's part of NASCAR. Everybody says what they want to say. And some even do what they are thinking. If that made any sense . I mean look at Tony Stewart

    Just like the good ol' Montoya

    To be honest, he's done a good job in NASCAR despite his incidents.

    Expectations this year were sky high when they shouldn't be. If he finished in the top 35 in points then his rookie career should be considered a success. (But he did much more than that)
