Thread: Ambrose's Rookie status

can anyone tell me why Ambrose has to have the Rookie stripe but doesn't qualify for rookie status in the points?

Ambrose had eleven starts, Almirola had twelve, and AJ, had 27. Last year is the year they would have qualified as top rookie. That doesn't mean that they no longer are rookie's. They just can't compete for the title. Marcus has a full time ride. Almirola, and AJ both have driving styles that remind me of Michael Schumacher, the six, or seven time F1 Champion.

I don't approve of selling owner points. They should be non-transferable. Because they are used to guarantee a starting spot, they need to be earned, not purchased.

I think NASCAR is allowing this, because with money being hard to come by, it's a way for well off teams to help finance the needy.
