Thread: Old Points System vs the Chase

Which do you like best, the current Chase format or the old points system? I'm for tradition and prefer the old points. Okay, maybe that's a bit selfish, too, because under the old points system, my favorite, Jeff Gordon, would be a 6-time champion. He's been gyped by a change in the middle of the game. That's sports, though.

I like the old system better too. The new way just doesn't seem as fair to me but if you have been watching for awhile it was a pretty big change to get used to.

I agree, I'm a veteran of the sport and I hate change. It's good to see other Gordon fans here too. I wonder how the racers feel about the new system?

Well, Jeff has said that he does like the new system, he just wishes it hadn't been begun until he was done racing. He's very aware of what it's cost him.

The old system seemed fairer to me. I definitely preferred it to what they have changed it to. I wonder how long the current system will be in place before they come up with something "better".

It seems like the trend right now,across sports, is to change the scoring. I like the old scoring better too, and growup, I think you're right. It won't be long before something new is changed, again.

They'll do something, I think, if Jimmie Johnson does win again, which it looks like he's going to. People are bored with him winning. Of course, I don't like him, so I could be prejudice.
