    Why are there weeks off?

I always thought that there was a race every weekend once the season started back up. I see there is no race this weekend. Next race is Sunday March 21 in Bristol.

Is this normal or is this a special weekend?

I hadn't really thought about that. My gut reaction would be to say to give everyone breaks and tune-up time, but most sports are able to have matches or games every week without a problem.

That is what I thought too, heck in baseball and basketball they are playing numerous games a week. Football every week (although there is a bye week for each team). I really thought they were every week.

NASCAR always has a a few weeks off per year. The three weeks off is for the trucks. They ran Daytona, waited 3 weeks, ran wherever we were, and then have 3 weeks again. Nationwide and NASCAR just have one week off and that's not unusual to have Easter week, before or after, off.

Thanks for explaining that to me. I really was not sure why they had time off. I forgot all about Easter coming up. So trucks are racing during the off weeks?
