    Should Jr. Go Truck Racing?

Recently, Darrell Waltrip commented that Dale Jr. should go drive the trucks for a while. He actually suggested it to Rick Hendrick. The theory is that Jr. could win some of those races and get his confidence back. He thinks Jr. could make a deal with Kevin Harvick to drive a few of races for Harvick's truck team.

    Any thoughts?

Ouch, I wonder what the truck drivers think of that - like any racer could just pop into truck racing and do well among those who have been focusing on driving trucks for much longer. I don't know; he might be in for a surprise!

I don't believe that Junior is serious or dedicated enough, he could race lawnmowers or bar stools and would probably be just as effective as in NASCAR.

I think that was a pretty unfair comment too! Build his confidence back up, anyone can beat the truck racers. I don't like it.
As far as Jr going to do it, sure why not- he isn't doing well in NASCAR.

Actually, I agree with Waltrip. Waltrip loves Jr. He really wants him to succeed, but the someone here hit the nail on the head -- Jr. really isn't that dedicated to it. A year or so ago, I recall Waltrip asking Jr. about stopping a lot of the outside distractions and just working on racing and Jr. claimed he had no distractions (oh yes he does). He doesn't want to, for whatever reason.

The truth about the trucking series is that it is for has beens and newbies as a rule. That's why Waltrip thinks Jr. could do well. The guys in the truck series can't cut it in NASCAR anymore (or yet). That's why they are driving the trucks.

I don't think Jr. has been into racing for quite some time. He had big pants to fill after daddy got killed. It has not been easy on him. The only reason (I believe) he is still going is because he doesn't want to let his father's name go.

I don't think that Jr is really not "into" racing anymore, I think he just hasn't done well in awhile. Look at Mark Martin, he wasn't doing good for years now all of a sudden he is doing great! I think if truck racing is what Jr wants to do then he should.

What bugs me a little is that the media won't let Jr be Dale. Over the weekend, one of the reporters was doing an on-air interview and he ended it by bringing up Sr. and how he hugged Jr. in Victory Lane after the win. He asked how Jr. feels coming back here (Texas). Jr. just shrugged and said he doesn't think about it. "It was such a long time ago." My point is, he's suffered from the shadow and the same people who acknowledge that in conversation on TV are the same ones that won't let the memory go away.

    Jr doesn't have a chance.

Maybe that's why Kyle Busch races in every one he can and why he now even owns a truck team that runs every week. Kyle's immature, which is why I say that. He likes being the villain.
