Should NASCAR have a mandatory medical 'out' program?

Recently on this board, in another topic I believe, someone brought up the question of racers and do they ever not race due to injury. The fact is you practically have to drag a driver kicking and screaming from their cars. They have to be on death's door to get out.

That said, should there be a mandatory requirement, a basic physical of sorts, that drivers should meet so that they don't cause harm to others?

For example, Tony Stewart raced with broken ribs last season. This year, Denny Hamlin drove with a hurt knee. Last season, Carl Edwards was walking around on crutches. I can't recall who but someone had a hand injury. This isn't ideal for them and it could potentially affect others.

NASCAR has absolutely no 'you can't get in the car' policy. Should they?

I thought they did have something in place. I definitely think at the point that the driver would be a danger to other drivers they should not get back in the car. If there isn't anything in place then yes I think they should have to have medical clearance to get back in and race.

No, they don't. A driver can race with a temp of 105 if he can get in the car. They don't intercede at all. Drugs are the only no no in NASCAR.
