Speaking of crashes, do you watch the races mainly to see who's going to wreck? I know a lot of fans are this way. They might have their fav drivers but they also have their fav drivers that they want to see wreck!![]()

I can honestly say I don't watch to see who is going to crash. As much as I enjoy this sport, I have always felt it was very dangerous. So, when I watch I am cheering on my favorite driver and hoping none of them get hurt.
I don't watch for the wrecks, either. It makes me nervous. Even yesterday when JJ crashed, I winced. I spoke aloud, "I dont' want you to be hurt, but karma." It's still dangerous out there.
Good to know that there are some people that don't have negative thoughts throughout a race! lol I sometimes tense up when I think a crash is about to happen. It stresses me out too.
I don't watch it FOR the crashes. I watch it because I like it and the crashes are a bonus. And besides, there aren't always cool crashes. Like if only one person crashes, that's not very interesting usually. But if 10 people get caught in the wreck, its exciting!
Nothing ruins a race for me more than a crash, whether one car or half the field. This is one aspect of the sport I detest, I've seen more than my fair share, along with the tragic results, there is no such thing as a good crash, exiting, potentially, but not in a good way.![]()
I have to agree with oldcanuck. Even if a driver isn't 'apparently' hurt, things can take a toll. Look at Jeff Gordon. His back injury is most likely caused by two hard wrecks in one year. He was 'apparently' fine, only he wasn't. Who knows what will be discovered by these guys as they continue to race and even after.
Crashes definitely make the races more exciting, however I am watching to see who can legitimately drive the best to win the race. I don't want to see the race finish under the caution flag.
Races aren't ending under caution much now, which I'm glad about. They have the 3 attempts at the green/white checker. I love that, even though it's worked against Jeff twice now.
