    Why Goodyear

Why is Goodyear the official tire supplier for Nascar? Have they always been? Is it just because they have a blimp lol? Don't get me wrong I don't have a problem with Goodyear my hubby works for them but their tires are uber expensive!

Maybe Goodyear gives them the best price on buying tires in bulk? Or maybe they really do make the best racing tire. I doubt it's the blimp but you gotta admit it's pretty cool!

I recall several years ago, (maybe 15 or 20) there was one or two teams that switched over to Hoosier for a few races, NASCAR put an end to that very quickly, so I'm guessing that they have some kind of an iron clad contract to be the exclusive tire supplier.

Tony Stewart might beg to differ about the quality, he has been fairly vocal on occasions about is dislike for Goodyear tires. There were others, but their criticism has been more muted.

For as long as I can remember Goodyear has been a sponsor of NASCAR. I be willing to bet that they do those contracts for so many years at a time before they have the option to consider switching to another tire company.

I wonder how much more than 15-20yrs it would be. I seem to remember this always being the case and while I am not a spring chicken I do remember a tad more than 20 yrs with Nascar and Goodyear together.

And speaking of tires, has anyone seen the creepy commercial with the bunny for Michelin? :/
gak! work is just wrong in so many ways...
