    Post Formula 3 Costs

    Hello members!

Can someone inform me about Formula 3 costs? How much does it cost to make one season in Spanish F3, for example. Do we must buy the car, or can rent the car? To be part of a existent team or to go with a new team? I would like to go with my own team. How much it can cost?

    Thanks

Running your own F3 team will cost several million dollars.

Just getting a seat in the British F3 series is about half a million pounds.

You're obviously going to need major sponsorship.

This is obviously a major investment and one that is only attempted by people with the realistic goal of being a professional racing driver.

A much more cost effective series for enthusiasts is the Palmer Audi series in Britian, in which a seat comes with a one-time payment of 55 000 poundes.

HA! That'd be awsome. Problem is, there's only one seat to a car. Who fights who for a spot. If it'd be up to me Ryan and Fahad would be our drivers, all things considdered.

I've often wondered what the costs would be to get involved in many of the motorsports series. Obviously F1 is out of the question, But IRL, CHAMP, GP2, A1GP and the like are alot less expensive. Series like A1GP and GP2 have the benefit of a standardized car (I think CHAMP is too) which would seem to bring the cost down. You're still talking about huge amounts of $$ though. I personally would love to run an A1GP car. I just love the way they look. Also, your average person has a better chance of getting into a motorcycle series. I can go run AMA Superbike for like 10-15 thousand startup. The bike being $10k and then whatever you need to get to all the races you can. I'm sure there's plenty of expense buying tires and if there are entry fees and such.

Hehe, but they have to bring sponsors onboard

Well you could in theory you might, but there is a snowball's chance in hell you'd win a single race. The Bostrom and Hodgeson Parts Unlimited Ducati replicas from last year cost somewhere near 30 grand new.

That's very true. What I mean though, is that privateers DO have a chance. Not like in F1. Spyker and the like are spending millions just to say "Hey,we're in F1". Ya you are, but at the back.

I tell you what would be sweet is to get a series together with the Aeiral Atom's. Get a few of those together and hit up some tracks. Nice. Only $50-60K each. Hehehehe
