As a Swede I think there are already way too many good drivers from Finland and we don't really need anymore. Atte Mustonen and Mika M?ki are making their way up the ranks but I'm wondering if Valtteri Bottas won't cath them up soon.
He's into his second season in Formula Renault 2.0 now. Last season he ran for the small finnish team Koiranen Bros. Motorsport in the Northern European Cup and managed to score two wins and ended up third in the championship. He then went on to participate in the UK Winter Series, which he with his 3 wins in 4 races would have won clearly if he had a MSA licence (now he was inegilible to score points).
This year he's moved into the big Motopark Academy team in both NEC and the Eurocup and his season start has been pretty decent, to say the least. So far he's been on pole in all 7 races and won all four in the NEC. Today he won comfortably from pole at Silverstone; 12.6 seconds ahead of the next guy in the 42 car strong field.
10 wins and 16 podiums in 27 races so far in his single seater career (and that's without racing in national club series).
I'm pretty sure the F1 talent scouts are paying attention.
