    Earl Bamber

A lot of people in Europe would not of heard of this guy but i reckon he has a huge future.

I started to follow his career in 2005 when he finished 3rd at the Rotax World Finals.

then in 2006 he drove in the Formula BMW Asia championship. Bamber became the first rookie to win the championship (ahead of Daniel Ricciardo who was in his second year in that category and currently leads the Formula Renault Eurocup and Formula Renault NEC)

Over the 07/08 summer he finished second in the NZ Toyota Racing Series. Only missing out on the championship because of mechanical problems as he went out to qualify at the last round of the championship.

He currently leads the Formula V6 Asia championship and his team, Team Meritus, want him to compete in GP2 Asia next year. Not a bad effort for a kid who is still 17 for another month.

This year he has achieved an incredible 6 circuit lap records at the last 6 rounds he has raced at. All this in 3 different types of car and has a chance to add another lap record this weekend.

    in order
    TRS - Manfield Park
F3 Australia - Adelaide Street Circuit (Bambers first ever street circuit)
    TRS - Levels Raceway
    TRS - Teretonga
    TRS - Hamilton Street Circuit
FV6 Asia - Sepang (North Circuit)

Sounds indeed like a great talent!

The only earl I have heard of is Earl Okin which is also a huge talent.

I'd rather have a full bottle in front of me than a full frontal lobotomy

I bet now Bamber has become the youngest driver to score a GP2 podium you have heard of him
