    Chili Bowl

Once again the Chili Bowl is setting records with 281 entries for the 2009 event featuring some of Americas best going at it in the toughest form of racing in 350hp Midgets on a dirt quarter mile oval indoors in the middle of Winter. This makes the Race Of Champions look like kindergarten with 4 nights of qualifying to determine the starting line up for the Alphabet count down to the 'A' main in which 24 will battle over 50 laps to win the title.

January 13-17 check it out at www.chilibowl.com

I like the Chili Bowl racing. I also enjoy the Prelude To The Dream at Eldora Speedway in Ohio. Its a dirt track owned by Tony Stewart. A lot of big names in NASCAR and other series race in the event. I will be going in person in 2009.

Haven't been up to it yet but someday would like to go just for the atmosphere, have known ones who have been and reckon it's an unbelivable show. Althought I do prefer warm weather to cold weather and at this time of year down here we have a lot of racing on.

Would like to get up and see the Knoxville Nationals one year where up to 160 of the World's best Sprintcar drivers go at it on the half mile.

Well with the first two nights of Chili Bowl in the books it looks like Three Time World of Outlaws champ & Four Time winner of the Chili Bowl Sammy Swindell wants a fifth Golden Driller Trophy after winning the Race of Champions on night one and then dominating night two with a Heat race and Qualifying race win followed by a flag to flag A main win.

Sammy Swindell wins Chili Bowl for the fifth time, not bad when you consider Sammy is in his 50's and is no longer doing a full on season these days.
