    Lawnmower Racing

I saw this one TV the other day and my only thought was I hope they don't have the blades on If someone falls off, they could seriously hurt themselves. It's basically racing on high-powered lawnmowers, even though I'd definatly like one of those things to mow my lawn in. Although according to the specifications, the cutting blade must be removed. Thankfully. It's also interesting that they have a stock class where you simply have to buy a normal, manufactored lawn mower, take off the blade, and race it. It seems like they wouldn't go very fast, but with all the helmets and dirt flying everywhere, it must get pretty intense.

I saw it on TV a couple of months ago, on a sports magazine type show. They were treating it as a joke.

It's pretty funny actually. But if you're going to tell me these people sit all night setting the lawnmower up and tuning it, that would be news to me. The faster cars go, the more difficult they are to drive. So I guess in the motorsport hierachy, a lawnmower would be classified as pre-Go Kart?
