FISC EuroTour's Legendary Circuits Series mixes well with Lotus sports cars

Such was the success of the combined effort of FISC EuroTour and the French Troph?e Lotus, that one is already talking about the opportunity to stretch the working relationship into 2009. A record breaking 38 car grid was the result of the first effort to amalgamate grids and offer better racing then ever before to both the drivers and the public.

Contrary to many grids - generally offering nothing more then a parade of cars - the Throphee Lotus ? FISC EuroTour combination offered a sight of cars crawling over each others back all down the field and until the finish line.

The Porsche 911?s of Dutch drivers Caresani, Kooy and Melse proved to be the icing on the cake. Power sliding their cars, in a very controlled manner, around every corner, fully using the Dunlop vintage tyres? grip ? or was it the lack off? -, they managed to get the hands of the French audience together lap after lap.

Of course Lotus 7 cars everywhere, dominating the Caterhams which were participating, but in a different class. Up front we also found the original aluminium bodied Lotus XI of Christian Cane (F), a beautifulpiece of English craftsmanship.

Another interesting entry was the original Pon - van Lennep Porsche 904, this time entered by Michiel van Duijvendijk (NL), which had to start from the back of the grid after missing practice, but managed to get up front in an eventful race.

AH Sprites and MG Midgets are still well represented, but nowadays only racing in period configuration. Mark Dols (NL), racing his Williams & Pritchard Sebring GT proved to be the highlight of this still spectacular class. Englishman Richard Evans and Dutchman Hans Dullaert, both racing their open MG Lenham Midgets, proving their strength by ending up front repeatedly.

Already developments are on its way to build on the success of this years? competition involving only Legendary Circuits as before.
