Has anyone here taken in any snowmobile races? That's another event that I haven't heard much about in recent years.
I used to love going out on trails when I was a kid, not racing but just getting out there.

Wow, that sounds like fun! Those things can FLYI ride snowmobiles for fun but never imagined racing. I will have to look it up, it sounds interesting enough to watch! Where did you watch one?
Hey speedster, I never actually attended a snowmobile racing event but I remember them being advertised back in the day.
As for the machines that I saw in person, I find it nostalgic to think about them. I remember Ski-Doo of course, Snowjet, and John Deere machines to name a few.
Never in a race as I have only been on one about three times in my life but my husband said he wants one for Xmas, I told him make it snow first.
(we are known more for getting ice than snow any year)
I like the idea but I would really not know where to begin and seeing as I live in a state that is most times snowless in my area (or not enough to play it), I would have to move first.![]()
I've gone to the races in Beausejour, north of Winnipeg a couple of times, back in the early seventies, when Gilles Villeneuve raced snowmobiles.
As for myself, I've never parked my butt on one.
The USCC Snowmobile Racing Association is located in Minto, ND. The 2010 season begins Jan. 3, 2010 and runs through Mar 6, 2010. I have never personally attended one of their events but I found this video of one of the races last season.

I have never seen a snowmobile race before but they have them by where I live. It is a big event every year. People come from all over just to race their sleds. I like to ride them, but am not into the racing part because I am not standing out in the cold while they are doing it.![]()
