Thread: Race of Vintage Airplanes

I have seen this show once in TV. If I'm not mistaken, the race that I have watched was between the German made ME 109 and American plane P-51 Mustang.

It was really nice to watch them race because its like they are in a dogfight but with the absence of bullets.

I haven't ever heard of any shows like this. Do you happen to remember what the name of the show was? I enjoy shows about stuff like that.

Racing vintage planes is a new one for me too. I can only imagine the excitement during a race like that. I guess you can race just about anything now.

Eugene if you remeber what channel or anything let us know that sounds really cool. I know my husband would love to see a show like this!

I've seen something like that, but I'm not sure the planes I saw were vintage.

They fly through a course of huge "pylons" and I think they do it individually and compete on time and they're also judged.

I also would like to know where you have seen the show. I love the movie Flyboys and I want to know if they also race those WW1 planes. I wonder how do they race in space.

This show sounds very cool! I would love to see something like this live too. Of course minus the bullets! I've never seen anything like it, but it's something that I would be interested in seeing.

I can't wait for Eugene to post about the race he talking about so I tried looking at youtube and here is what I found. The plane looks vintage to me so I guess this is the race he is talking about.

I guess those are WW II era planes in the video, aren't they?

Speaking of Flyboys, I also like that movie and there are some great flight sequences in Pearl Harbor too.
