Growing up in a racing family

I did not grow up in a racing family. But I wonder what it's like to be the child of a full-time racer - not just professional but the small circuits as well. Anyone a race child?

I grew up watching my dad race at the local tracks and once in a race at Daytona. I have always been a tomboy and so to me it was fun and exciting. I guess it depends on if you like racing or not.

Good point. Lots of carts and ATVs etc.

That's cool that your dad raced. I wonder if anyone grows up in a racing house but hates racing. lol That would stink.

There are a lot of kids around NASCAR, that's for sure. Some of them are practically raised on pit road. I'm not sure if that's good or bad.

I am sure there are probably some that don't like it because they are either always on the road or missing a parent all the time. Neither one of those sounds like a great option for a "normal" childhood.

With the economy in its current state, many parents are having to travel from their families or completely uproot them in order to put food on the table. One has to wonder in this day and time, What is a normal childhood?
