WTF!!!???!!! Awww man that sucks. That was the only name in WRC I actually knew. He was a great driver.

Odd, I was just reading an F1 thread about how the greats always die. Spooky.

" An AS350B2 Squirrel helicopter registered to McRae crashed 1 mile north of Lanark, Scotland on 15 September 2007, which is close to the McRae family home.
Formal identification of the crash victims is not expected until mid-morning on September 16th at the earliest, however McRae is known to be a keen helicopter pilot, and his agent Jean-?ric Freudiger has stated that McRae was piloting the helicopter at the time of the crash and that McRae and his five-year-old son Johnny were killed in the crash, in which Strathclyde police confirm there were no survivors. Also on board were believed to be another adult - a school friend of McRae - and another child. McRae's wife Alison and their daughter Hollie, 9, were not on board, friends said.

It's a tragic and unexpected death . McRae was a great driver and an inspiration to many. He also built a reputation in the virtual racing segment, where his games are very popular.

I still have the original Colin McRae Rally 2 on my shelf . It's six years old

Even Rossi made mention of his passing today in his post race speech in Portugal. Very sad.

    Thanks Ryan. That was nice.

It's very much like a well choreographed dance. Not to get all floofy, but that's the only thing I can really compare it to. Very cool.

And not to take anything away from the loss of Colin, but if I were his co-driver... I would've needed a sturdy diaper. If I'm not in the drivers seat, things can get ugly. And for him to stay so focused on guiding, during all that.. WOW!

Colin rolls the car at X-Games, keeps going and only loses out by half a second... that's the Colin we'll remember, who gave it all every step of the way.

Yeah. These rally drivers have holes in their brains just like RR guys. Isn't the WRC kinda unknown sport in northern America?
