    BP-Ford Mud Message!

    Hi all,

I work with BP-Ford and would firstly like to thank Jo for allowing me to post something I hope you?ll find interesting.

To celebrate BP-Ford?s WRC manufactures victory at the last rally of the season and coinciding with Marcus Gronholm?s retirement, we created something special - a 35 foot tall mud message emblazoned across some Welsh hillside near Sennybridge!

The mud message was created using turf we placed mud-side up to give the effect that a rally car had been let loose. The turf was a great, environmentally friendly alternative to actually ripping up the grass ? one passerby commented ?it looks like a rally car has pulled a load of donuts in a field...!?
We unveiled ?WE DID IT!? on November 30th, just in sight of the Halfway Stage of Rally GB. We?re pretty proud of the end result and would love to know what everyone here thinks.

    Thanks,

    Rachel

That looks very good. Way to go! Bring the show to Canada!

I have to either stop or change my monitor settings Is it me, or does the turf mud look pink? And look at the pretty, blue road!

    Wink BP-Ford Mud Message!

    Hello,

Thanks for your feedback! It took us seven hours from start to finish to create the message - an unbelievable amount of time was spent searching for the perfect location (that's the actual rally track behind it) and carrying around 150 square metres of turf with us!
No need to adjust your monitor http://www.worldracingforum.com/images/icons/icon12.gif Unfortunately the weather was horrendous on the day, so that beautiful purple hue unexpectedly came about when rain settled on the mud and ended up reflecting the surrounding countryside!

BEcause the size of the car is so small compared to its surrounding it looks like one of those lego cars i used to play with when i was a kid. Must've been quite a pain to get it right, and worrying in case you get it wrong, lool. Do you have any pictures of the actual process?

What seems a little awkward judging by the emptiness of the area...passerby?

    Great job though

    Hello,

Thanks for all your comments - much appreciated I thought I'd share a few images of the process so you can get a better idea of what we did with those seven hours!
