Thanks for finding that Emma
The purists will be up in arms. We've seen that already. I personally think it's a terrific idea. Great for the local economies, diversity in the race, etc. etc. Without a doubt, once the region in North Africa stabilizes, they will move back to Dakar. The area in question hosts the most arid desert in the world (as far as I know) and the terrain will be very challenging.
I do find the Start/Finish being both in Buenos Aires a bit odd, but hey.. And as for it NOT being 'Dakar' becuse it's not in Dakar, get over it people. We may see it more as a Brand in the future, rather than being a distinct course like we see in so many other racing disciplines.
Cant' wait to see what the news will be tomorrow...
All you purists can throw your doo-doo at me now![]()
Too bad that Brazil is out, there it is all the types of terrain in Brazil for the rally, just snow we dont havea shame
i'd love to have the opportunity to see this rally![]()
yea the whole loop idea is a bit off i think but that stretch of land isnt necesseraly A) long or B) very deserty in the same way morocco is. what should have been done was have a pacific rim rally race. now that would have been awesome. oregon to japan.
