Daniel Carlsson in Drunk Driving Incident

Swedish Rally star Daniel Carlsson, a spokes person for his own "Don't Drink and Drive" organization, has been caught driving drunk.

He drove his car in his home town yesterday and spotted a police patrol doing tests, turned his car around, parked it at a gas station and started running. The police found him after 20 minutes and he was noticeably drunk.

He has made a press release on his web site.

    Way to go!

Oh, and here is his website "World Rally Against Drunk Driving".

    What an absolute TOOLSHED!!

I can't help but laugh at him! How stupid can you be?!?

That's a mighty big hole to dig himself out of. Good luck with that

A quote from his own WRADD website
    WHY I STARTED WRADD

You only have to watch the news on TV to understand the need of WRADD. As a rally driver I?ve had enough minor accidents to understand the risks and to appreciate that racing should be done under professional supervision. Drunk driving is the complete opposite to this and the worst...

Through WRC I am able to influence young people and reach out to all 800 million viewers watching racing on TV. The purpose of WRADD is to create an online community against drunk driving. Supporting WRADD is not about sponsoring racing - it's about

MAKING THE WORLD A BETTER PLACE!
Yes you can! And now all of them, plus many more may have a couple of questions for you

    Oh please

i think he should be ashamed of himself of doing such an ugly thing..he has left a bad patch mark on himself which would be very difficult to improve..

It is very sad to hear that a star racing driver like him was caught driving drunk. It is a very bad thing to do. He must make an public excuse for his behaviour.

I have no pity for idiots, and now his "800 million viewers" can see what a jerk he really is. I mean, really, how dumb can you be? I have no pity for drunk drivers either, aftering having 2 sets of close friends lose siblings over it (both as young kids), pity is the last thing I would give these fools.

It is bad enough that this man started an organization against something that he does himself. It is even worse that he attempted to do something so lame as to park and run. Stand up and be a man, admit when you have done something stupid and take the punishment properly.

It's not just in motorsport where this happens a "celebrity" comes along, sets up an organisation or becomes a spokesperson, advocating against a certain behaviour then get caught doing it themselves. I'm thinking these are just a smokescreen to divert attention away from what they do when they're out of the spotlight.

So very true and I couldn't agree more. It is like they set this up and think to themselves that if they do so that no one would ever imagine them doing the terrible thing that they claim to advocate against so hard. So sad!

    Go have another one Daniel.
