Dangerous Sport For Spectators and Emergency Workers

I found this video on google and the thing that impressed itself on my mind the most was how close these wrecks happened to spectators and emergency workers. In some places there appeared to be a few yards and some yellow tape between the cars and those watching.

The worst thing that could happen would be the car burns in flames after the crash. This happened in the later parts of the video where the by standers went near the crashed car to help or to look, then the car went into flames. I wish viewers are on a higher plane while watching the race to avoid accidents on the spectators.

I see what you're referring to, stewartfan.

I guess out on those dirt tracks it may be tougher to control fans than on an "organized" track, but there were some scary moments there.

I wonder if different countries have different regulations about that?

That's a scary video for me! It terrifies me to think about how that could happen. Since this is all new to me, I probably shouldn't watch these sorts of things.

That is some intense footage. The two that really got my attention were the one that burst into flames and the one that appeared to fall over a cliff. I imagine the emergency workers are stationed in the most dangerous areas, but I wish they were provided more substantial protection.

I'm not surprised when I hear about spectator and crew injuries and deaths as a result of rally racing - it's a bit of an accepted danger to be a part of those races, though.

Yeah, that is a definite negative for the sport. Some private races don't have any real guidelines, either. It is a dangerous sport.

I remember stretches of public highways being promoted by a racing magazine by being included in lists of locations for street racing.

I guess that's the extreme example of that, and of course very dangerous.

Wow, those were super scary! I've been to many dirt track races when I was younger. You know what, I was allowed right in the pit areas. If I would have seen this video back then I would have stayed clear.

There isn't enough security to keep people safe at these smaller Dirt track races.

You know after watching the most recent Final Destination movie, I kind of wondered about this too. Who knows what could happen if a wreck broke out?
