Just a quick question, what is the average budget to run a car in the British GT and BTCC?
In the British GT do two drivers share one car during a single race?
Thanks,
Fahad

I don't have much knowledge about touring racing, but I found out that the average budget to run one car in the BTCC is $2,000,000 USD.
Do you think the British GT cost more or less?

I would think GT costs a bit less. BTCC would be a bit more competitive. Although Swedish touring car veteran Jan Nilsson had some controversial views about it. Which didn't go down too well with the British racing fans (who of course think all British racing is the cream of the crop):
"It was once the mother of all touring car championship. But since my team visited the finale this year at Thruxton I suspect that the BTCC and Alan Gow just were lucky during the nineties. A country with a population of more than 60 million runs the BTCC final at a track that makes the Swedish track Geller?sen look like Monaco. They have speakers from before the war, no screens to watch the race on, a pit lane and paddock with holes in the tarmac that makes you afraid of breaking your ankle, stands for 2% of the spectators, pit garages that looks like a outhouse at a junkyard, entry lists in the support classes that reminds me of Swedish racing before 1995 and BTCC teams that barely reach the standard of what the STCC teams have kept for many years.
If you then compare the drivers you quickly see that the top of the BTCC and the support classes keep very high standards, but after that - oh my god! The fact that the organization only manage to get ca. 30.000 spectators in an area that has millions within 100 kilometers from the track only shows that the BTCC is at a dead end.
I am ashamed for the championship when I am there, sadly. If I had met Alan Gow there and then, he would not liked me when I would have told him that we felt fooled going there and paying much money to get in for that shit. Frankie says: no more!"
Summary:
"The BTCC is a terrible championship with poor cars. "

Cooking mc's like a pound of bacon.
I think I agree on that.
But aren't the British championships the best national racing in terms competition and audience?
To run a car in the BTCC it would cost $2,000,000 USD (two million)
To run a car in the British GT it would cost $400,000 USD (shared by two drivers)
The cost of the British GT per driver is the same as British Formula Ford![]()
I don't understand why the Formula Ford costs way more than this series?British GT Gets First Look at GT4
With prices starting at 50,000euros provides an affordable way to race in the UK's leading sportscar championship
