    Tinted Window Films

Do you like or use tinted window films on your car? I like some of the designs they have out but am not fond of window films on my car, especially the windshield. It is nice during the day to stop the glare of the sun but I do not like looking through the darkened glass at night.

My current car came with tint (factory style) but I have done this to another vehicle before many years ago. It was the most tedious thing I think I have ever done in life, it was on an old Nissan truck, and that compared to fixing the timing belt on the same truck - ha, such a pain.

I don't use tinted windows, but my boyfriend has them on his car. They are as dark as the law will allow them to be. He gets pulled over by cops frequently. I think he likes the look, more than anything else.

My car has tinted windows but those are the original windows when I bought the car. Its dark enough to reduce the glare but not too much for looking through it at night.

The car I have now doesn't have the window tint but my previous car did and it must have been self installed because with the heat we have hear it had bubbles galore!

Where I live there are actually laws dictating how dark your tint can be, and the tint they allow is so light that you may as well not have it at all. I wish I could, though

It's the same way here toyotagirl. They are so serious about it that if you get a ticket for having it too dark they won't let you pay it until you show a receipt from where you had it professionally removed!

That's what kept happening to my boyfriend as well. Question though-- what is it about tint that is useful rather than just cosmetic? I'm not sure that I understand the distinction.

My vehicle came with the factory tint. I know cops do not like tinted windows because they can not see into a vehicle when they pull you over. It is a danger to them.

I wouldn't have it on my windshield except the very top but I do like it on the other windows, it helps keep the car a little cooler in the summer. My husband tried to put them on his car and it was hard, he ended up taking it to a professional.
