Thread: Possibility of a Sydney-based V8 Supercar Team?

This article brings up a couple questions for me: why do $30 million tax dollars go towards the V8 supercar series in Sydney if there is no Sydney team? And why is there no Sydney team, even though some drivers in the series were born there?

Just like anywhere else in the goofy world of motor sport
I'm keeping an eye on the TV guide to see if Speed, (which seems more interested with whats going on in the world of towing, cops chasing car thiefs, and classic car auctions, when they are not showing something about NASCAR) is going to show some of the V8 Supercar races from Australia, or any other touring series from Europe.

Hah, I figured that the answer would be somewhere along those lines. What a shame. Televisio is drivin by the same thing, though, and the people love their chases...maybe we'll ge lucky though!

Money and connections run this entire world, not just the world of motorsports. But then if the fans weren't willing to dish out the money it really wouldn't matter if there were connections or not. It amazes me what we humans will pay to be entertained.
