V8 Supercars ME Onboard footage from Yas Marina [HD]

As all V8 supercar fans will know the Aussie V8s will be at Yas Marina in 2 weeks time.

As a taster here is some HD onboard footage from one of the V8 Supercar ME drivers Raed Raffii from this last weekend races there.

The ME V8s will be there in 2 weeks time also supporting the Aussies.

If you've never seen the Yas Marina circuit from onboard you should definitely watch this video, the circuit is fabulous.

There is also a compilation from the very first race at the Yas Marina circuit which again was the V8 Supercars ME. The video includes onboards from various drivers and external footage, all to the sounds of Areosmith who played live after the event.

If you enjoy these videos please Rank (5* would be nice ) and favorite to raise their exposure on Youtube.

Also, lots of other onboards from the V8s on my channel YouTube - MaxxUK's Channel

Not even to tell me "how dare I call these V8 Supercars" or how bad the drivers are LOL.

Only kidding, just that I posted on a couple of other forums that did that, plus a few comments against the video itself.

Obviously a lot more opinionated than you guys on here

Hope you enjoyed the video, more coming very soon.

    OK, you want a reply?
The first video looked unreal, first I thought it was a video game (I don't do video games, so I can't tell for sure what they look like nowadays) but that's the problem with these new tracks, they don't look real.
I was watching the foot work as much if not more than the ontrack stuff, it was pretty obvious that he had transmission problem, from the weird clutching and the sound of the engine that almost sounded like it was going to stall at times. Nice recovery on the spin, without hitting anything.
The car that spun in front of him, I could not tell if he actually hit him (I suspect he did, from the way the car reacted) however in the previous corner he went sideways big time, so maybe he had some handling problems (or maybe he hit him there as well).
The second video, I watched for a couple of minutes until I could not stand the sound of Aerosmith anymore (not a fan).
I remember a few years ago when they where at Indianapolis, A.J. Foyt was near them and I had the impression that he wanted to punch the lights out on Steven Tyler, which I would have enjoyed a great deal

    Thanks oldcanuck,

I agree it does look like a video game and, being an old boy, I also yearn for the classic tracks. The great thing about thie circuit though is the closeness of the spectators.

I'm also not a fan of modern circuit with tarmac runoff, had it been a traditional circuit then half the field would have ended up in the gravel.

I understand the reasons why but would much prefer a system whereby, if you ran off the circuit (all 4 wheels) that there would be some disadvantage. Either have the surface as lower grip (sort of defeats the object of having tarmac) or at least penalties. Problem with the later is that, with lots of off track excursions the spectators wouldn't know who as actually winning, nor would the driver.

I've been thinking about this, maybe there could be a system whereby it's the drivers responsibility to penalise himself. The lap is usually split into 3 sectors, maybe have it such that, if you run off track you must not record a sector that is within 2 secs of your best sector time.

Not great but really it is a problem here. Certainly the fastest lap times had an element of "inventive" lines about them.
