    Ok, lets see what I can do.

    Harakimi is right. That is not a picture from F1, however the driver is a very notable F1 driver.

    I'll take it from the silence that this hint didn't help.

    The driver was a multiple world championship winner, and to him from any other angle would be to give it away.

    Some of his accomplishments: Record of pole positions in 1984, 9 poles in one season, a record untill 1988

    This race is notable because it has the closest finish, Unser Jr. beat Scott Goodyear by 0.043 seconds

    i forgot to say he didnt raced, he crashed at the testes and had a really bad accident

    Senior Piquet it is.

    You nailed it although I noticed a possible discrepancy in the labeling of the photo's at the site where I got these pictures.

    I believe the driver in the picture is Mr. Piquet's replacement preparing to do his qualifying run.

    Who is that replacement driver?
