    WRF Leagues Feedback and Suggestions

This may be a little early as it involves season 4, however it is in response to Sam's post about how the seats for next will be determined. I find the Performance Category method to be a little strange, it seems to penalize those who have been here for every season, and reward those who only show for 1 season (ie seat fillers).

I'd suggest a weighted random draw, and a Champions discretion. Take all the people who have participated in 2 or more seasons and draw their names out of hat, writing down the names as you take them out, then all who have done 1 and finally all members who will be in for the first time.

The list, which at this stage only contains WRF members who have signed up, is then posted, and drivers make their selection, the champions name is at the top of the list and he chooses first, then down the list.

following that is sign-up and any reserved seats that go unfilled after a certain amount of time are opened up to anyone.

It ensures a couple of things that I'd hope to see in an series that runs successive seasons:

    1. The Champion stays in a good car, as would happen in real life.
    2. There's a much better chance of being able to team with our friends from the forum, looking at the list now very few forum regulars are teamed with other forum regulars.
    3. The people who have been loyal to this series and played it for a while get the better cars, and new people coming have to prove that they want to be here before getting top cars.

Performance categories (pc's) have been made with respect of the "rules" or "idea" from League 1 when it was talked that we will circulate seats so you can't end up with driving a Spyker for 2 seasons or more in a row. Now after switching to 2006 carset where we have more potential winning cars things got bit different than the original PC's from 2007 carset. Main point is still that in every other League season you are in top rides, and every other you are not.

    1. Not that I'm thinking that I'm just a SUPERIOIR driver, but this would lead to situation where top 6 or top 10 drivers are usually in top 6 or top 10 cars, forcing newbies to pick low-end rides with other newbies. One thing that was discussed alot with MOD team was that we could pair up pros with noobs and thus raise the gaming experience for rookies.

    2. Answer to this is pretty much written above. Anyhow we don't have FIA style strict rules in WRF F1 League. If you really want to race in ride x with teamie y, speak it loud.

    3. I see your point here, but this would again lead to a situation explained before. The amount of invitations sent to former WRF league- and challenge players exeeded the amount of available seats, but still we had to get 11 drivers with public invitations. It's lot easier and faster to get full grid when you have other drives available than just the low end rides.
